- Screen Capture (Media Projection): We use Android's Media Projection API to capture the text displayed on your screen for translation purposes. These images are processed locally using on-device Machine Learning models and are not stored permanently or transmitted to our servers.
- Overlay (System Alert Window): We may use overlay permissions to display translation results directly over other apps to provide a seamless translation experience.
B. Usage Data
We may collect non-personal usage data such as crash reports and performance metrics to help us improve the stability and performance of the app. This is done through standard platform services (like Google Play Console).
2. Data Processing and Storage
We leverage advanced on-device technologies to protect your privacy:
- Transcription: We use the Whisper model locally on your device to convert speech to text. No audio is sent to the cloud for transcription.
- Translation: We use Google ML Kit's on-device translation models. This means your text and screen content are translated without leaving your phone.
